Gender and Water National Committee

The National Gender and Water Committee was created during a working meeting held in September 2008 in CAWTAR. The committee includes representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations, and acts in partnership with the consultative body of the project entitled “Mainstreaming Gender Dimensions into Water Resources Development and Management in the Mediterranean Region”, made up of the following:

• Ministry of Women, the Family, Childhood and the Elderly (FFEPA) ;
• Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fishing (ARHP): Rural Women support desk, hydraulic resources general department and the rural engineering and water exploitation general department;
• Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR);
• United Nations Development Program (UNDP);
• United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO);
• North Africa sub-regional office (Tunisia);
• National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia (INAT);
• Women and Environment Alliance;
• Employment and Housing Promotion Agency;
• El Kef Foundation for Regional Development;
• Tunisian Union for Agriculture and Fishing (UTAP);
• Tunisian Union for Social Solidarity (UTSS)
